This following blog post is about my life, but I hope it inspires you to work towards your goals and dreams as well.
This past summer, my boyfriend and I embarked on a free trip he won to Quebec City. As I gazed out of the window at 35,000 feet, I did some reflecting on my life. This very flight was a taste of what my life could be like, if I only had the confidence and competence to do more.
No one was going to give me the confidence I needed. This is something I had to learn on my own.
So the trip became a line.
I became determined to finally make it work.
I looked at my retail job, realizing I was going nowhere, no matter how hard I worked. I stopped applying for promotions because being a supervisor would just be a distraction from my true purpose. I would be paid more, but I would also work more hours, and evenings, taking time away from my son, my boyfriend, and my business. Those are the three big important things in my life.
So I am working harder than ever to move forward in the areas that matter. The job is just a paycheque to help me survive. Someday I will let it go.
There are several things I need to fix in my life and only then can I move on.
I need to:
- Settle the separation with my ex so the only ties we have is our son
- Set up counselling to continue the healing process
- Nurture the relationship with my boyfriend
- Help my son learn, grow, and thrive
- Get Passionate Quill off the ground
- Finish editing my trilogy and release it into the world
- Get back to a healthy weight
And in order to do that, I need to:
- Motivate myself
- Grow my self-confidence
- Stop caring what other people think
- Live my truth
- Work every day on moving forward no matter how tired I am
- Change and grow as a person
- Live up to my potential
- Be an example to others
This is the time. I don’t know how successful I’ll be at each of those items, but I have to do it before I run out of time.
So this summer I drew a line. I half-assed my way through life before the line. After the line, I am determined to kick ass.
The line is a catalyst. What I do with it is up to me.
I got this!
And so do you!
Share your goals in the comment section, and I’ll be cheering you on!
Be awesome and may your life be passionate!

Please note: After drawing a line, things aren’t going to go perfect for you, as they haven’t for me. BUT you will be further ahead than if you didn’t draw that line. I know if I didn’t draw the line, I would have been where I was before summer. I still have a long way to go, but I’ve also come a long way.
Also note: There will be people who judge you, try to hold you back (“I’m only helping you” or “I only care about you”), and you will have obstacles. But if you don’t face adversary, then you won’t become stronger. You won’t get the life of your dreams. Keep working towards something and don’t ever let anyone make you give up. And don’t give up on yourself. Also, you will have to make life changes to get ahead. You got this!
