It doesn’t matter what you create, whether it’s a piece of writing, a painting, a new dance, a photograph, a sculpture. We all go through times when we think no one enjoys our creations. We don’t get the likes or comments.

As a creative person myself, I enjoy reading comments. I sometimes feel disheartened when no one comments on the writing I spend so much time on. I just want to share my work with the world.

What you don’t realize is how many people look at your writing, your photos, your videos, etc, and enjoy it, but DON’T comment. They don’t hit the like button. Yet they appreciate it all the same.

You don’t know if your work inspires others. You don’t know if you helped someone smile, bringing sunshine to an otherwise bleak day. You don’t know if someone comes back to your work. Maybe they’re too shy to speak up. Maybe they think you already know how great your work is – how talented you are – and don’t need reminding.

Likes, comments, and shares aren’t the end-all be-all of the world. Don’t measure yourself by that yardstick. Don’t be discouraged. Don’t let it control how you feel about your work.

Keep doing what you’re doing. There will always be someone out there who loves what you created. There will always be someone out there who gets excited when they see you posted something.

Keep creating.

Be awesome and may your life be passionate!
