This is part two of my blog post on Just Keep Swimming. Basically some ideas that didn’t fit into that post, but I wanted to include.

This is going to seem a bit disjointed, but it’s mostly in point form. I hope you get some value from these ideas.

1. Not Drowning ≠ Swimming Strong

Sometimes “just keep swimming” doesn’t look graceful.

It looks like floating on your back.
It looks like taking breaks.
It looks like doing the bare minimum to stay afloat—and that still counts.

Point: Survival is still progress.

2. Treading Water Is a Skill, Not a Failure

There are seasons when you’re not moving forward—but you’re not sinking either.

Treading water takes effort, strength, and awareness.

Point: Maintenance seasons are real and necessary.

3. Going With the Flow (Without Giving Up Direction)

Going with the flow doesn’t mean giving up on your dreams—it means adapting to the current instead of exhausting yourself fighting it.

Point: Flexibility is not weakness; it’s wisdom.

4. Storms Don’t Mean You’re on the Wrong Ocean

High waves, turbulence, and storms are part of being at sea.

They don’t mean you made a wrong choice—they mean you’re in it.

Point: Difficulty is not a sign to quit; it’s often a sign you’re alive and trying.

5. Tides Ebb and Flow—So Will Your Energy

You won’t always feel motivated, inspired, or strong.

Energy comes in cycles, just like the tides.

Point: Rest is part of forward motion.

6. Sharks: Fear Is Loud, Not Always Dangerous

Fear circles. It exaggerates. It wants you to panic.

But fear doesn’t always mean danger—it often just means growth.

Point: Fear doesn’t get to steer the boat.

7. The Beauty of the Ocean Still Exists

Even after storms, the ocean holds beauty—light on water, quiet moments, unexpected joy.

Point: Beauty and hardship coexist; one does not cancel out the other.

8. Dolphins and Playfulness

Not everything has to be serious survival.

Sometimes joy, curiosity, and play are what keep you moving.

Point: Play can be a coping strategy, not a distraction.

9. “Just Keep Swimming” Isn’t About Speed

It’s about direction.

It’s about choosing not to stop—even when progress feels invisible.

Point: Consistency matters more than intensity.

Key Takeaways

  • Positive Mindset: Focus on what you can control.
  • Perseverance: Keep pushing through even when the water is rough.
  • Progress: Celebrate small wins, no matter how small.
  • Action: Consistency is key to success.
