So many people are complaining about having their freedom taken away because whole countries are on lockdown or under quarantine. Our movements have been reduced greatly. What is often overlooked are the positives.
Reconnecting with family. You’re spending more time with those in your household; getting to know your spouse more deeply; looking into your children’s eyes.
Not taking things for granted. You may not have realized how important a hug or a walk or the beach were until they were taken away.
The chance to S-L-O-W down. You are noticing things that were always there but you were too busy to see.
The discovery of what’s really important…your family, friends, pets, mental health, etc…
More rest. Enough said.
The world is quieter. Less people out and about. Less traffic.
You are able to do more of what you like to do. Hobbies, start a business, long walks…
Time off work. Enough said.
Time to reset your life and your priorities…learn what’s most important in your life.
As it gets colder, it’s great to have the opportunity to hunker down with your household. Play board games, watch movies, read books…really spend time with the most important people in your life.
It’s a great time to reassess your life without the distraction and busy-ness.
Lockdowns don’t last forever. Don’t see it as a negative. Just take this time to slow down and enjoy life. We should take breaks from the stressful modern life regularly.
Yes, the virus can be scary…but we live in a wonderful time on an awesome planet. Be thankful for what you have, instead of thinking about what you lost. Our freedoms will return. Until then, enjoy the ride!
